ダイヤモンドゲーム

Fill the point of the star directly opposite yours, one step or jump-chain at a time.

Invented in Germany in 1892 as Stern-Halma — "star Halma" — a six-pointed board built for the American game Halma, itself only nine years old. An American toy company sold it from 1928 under the name it is known by now, Chinese Checkers, though the game has no connection to China at all: the name was chosen to sound exotic to buyers.

別名はStern-Halma, Hoppers, Diamond Game。

目的

  • Be the first to fill the point of the star directly opposite yours with your own pieces. Nothing is captured and no line counts for anything.
  • A side that keeps pieces at home to block still loses once every other cell of the far point is taken.

  • A 17×17 board.
  • A hexagram: a centre hexagon with six triangular points, 121 cells in all. Each side's ten pieces start filling one point, black at the top and white at the bottom, shaded on the board; the far point is the one to fill.

手順

  • A turn moves one piece. It may step to any neighbouring empty cell, in any of the six directions the board's own lattice touches.
  • Or it may jump: over an adjacent piece of either colour, into the empty cell straight beyond it. From there it may jump again, and again, turning corners as it likes, so long as each jump crosses a piece. A move may stop after any jump.
  • A piece jumped over is not taken; it stays where it is.
  • The game ends the moment a move fills the point directly opposite yours.

細則

  • Either colour may open, or the first stone may be drawn by lot.
  • The threat reading, hints and the chance-of-winning bar are switched off: there are no lines here, only distance to cover.
  • The standard 121-hole star board, ten pieces a side, playing point to point straight across it. The full board seats up to six; this site plays the two-player form, the two points furthest apart.
